CB Recovery Budget Tool

Run three different methods on your own numbers, then weight them into one monthly budget. Run it once per level of care. A detox admission and an IOP admission are not worth the same, so they should not share a number.

Every field starts empty on purpose. The numbers here should be yours, not anyone else's. If you want to see how the three passes work before you fill in your own, load a sample set at the bottom.

01

Percent of revenue

Top down. Fast, and anchored to what the business can actually carry. It looks backward, so treat it as a starting line and not an answer.

Monthly budget, pass one $0
02

What an admission is worth

This sets your ceiling. Take what an admission brings in, subtract what it costs to deliver that care, then decide how much of what's left you'll hand over to get one.

Monthly ceiling, pass two $0
03

Work back from beds

Bottom up, and the only pass built on what your marketing actually does today. If you don't know your cost per qualified call or your call-to-admission rate, stop and go find them. They're worth more than any campaign.

Monthly budget, pass three $0

Blend them

No pass is right on its own. Lean on whichever one rests on data you actually trust. If your call tracking is solid, push pass three up. If you're newer and your numbers are thin, lean on pass one.

This is step one

A top line number tells you what you can spend. It doesn't tell you where to put it. That's the step where the money actually gets made or wasted, and it starts with four questions:

That takes real digging into your own numbers. If you want help thinking it through, email me at [YOUR EMAIL] and I'll give you my take. No charge and no pitch.
